How easy is it to send a fax with Pamfax?

Very easy. PamFax integrates into Office and other platforms. You can start the PamFax application by clicking on the desktop icon.

Once started, you will be presented with a wizard type window where you can select how you want to fax. There are three options: Document, Scan and only a cover page.

Once you have chosen one of the three you need to enter the fax number and pay. After payment your fax will be processed and you will receive regular status via Skype chat, email and/or SMS.

You have access to your own online PamFax portal where you can review the history, resend failed faxes, download PDF versions of sent faxes and change settings.

In addition PamFax integrates to Facebook and Salesforce.com which makes accessing the portal and sending faxes even easier.

After installing PamFax I get a notification that I need to buy PamFax. How do I fix that?

After installing, Skype asks you to "buy" PamFax. When you try to start
PamFax the procedure starts new and you are asked to "buy" Pam Fax
again... and so on...

This is fixed by re-syncing the Skype Extras license information. Follow these instructions:

Go to Options in Skype Extras Manager (Open Skype and click on Tools, Do More, Organize my Extras). Then click "Options" and in the options window you will see "Refresh Licenses".

Then restart PamFax and it should not ask to buy anymore.

This is a known issue and we hope Skype find a way to fix this in future automatically.

When starting PamFax I see a dialog "Checking for available licenses, please wait" and after that nothing happens

This is a bug in Skype's Extras Manager (the application that manages the extras applications like PamFax). Skype/Easybits is aware of this and are looking into the matter.

There is a two step process that you need to apply.

Close PamFax

Open the Extra Manager options (open EM from the Skype menu Tools, Do More, Organize your Extras. A new window will open, click "Options" at the bottom left side. Then click "Refresh Licenses" and close the Extras Manager.

Restart PamFax and see if the error is still present. If so, continue to read below.

If the above does not remove the checking for licenses dialog at PamFax start you need to do the following.

Uninstall Skype

Delete the hidden folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Skype" *

Re-install Skype

*) Note that under Vista this folder is in the hidden folder "AppData".

After that you can start Skype and try PamFax again. If the PamFax icon has disappeared or gives you an error you should re-install PamFax.
